The Weekly Surf Report
They say you might as well call the sport of surfing, paddling, because that's 90% of what you do out on the water...yes I do repeat that line somewhere in my book. I feel similar when it comes to getting "the first book" out there into the ocean of life. That's not to say I just drove down to Pacific Beach and hucked my beloved debut novel into the ocean. It is to say that, so far, I've done a lot of paddling and zero riding. I'm a patient patient though so it's all good; embrace journey and destination.
Unfortunately for this weekly surf report, it means no waves in sight; only paddling. By paddling I mean, dragging ass through this ocean of blogging, hashtagging, social media-lizing, etc. ad-#holyshit! Lot's of paddling. The purpose of the weekly surf report then, as I see it, is to learn to paddle better. I'm good at research, part of being good at research is recruiting help. So anyone who wants to point to where the waves are, I'm warmed up and ready to paddle!
